Lynn University Carpool Program Rules and Regulations

What is the Lynn University Carpool Parking Program?
Lynn University has implemented a new benefit for students and employees sharing the ride to campus. Carpool parking spaces have been installed in the Christine lot directly behind the bookstore.

Who can park in the Carpool Parking Spaces?
Registered carpools with a valid carpool permit can utilize the parking spaces. Carpools must consist of two or more employees or registered Lynn students who carpool to and from campus an average of two days a week.

Can I use the spaces when my carpool partner is not with me?
You can NOT utilize the carpool parking spaces on days that you do not carpool to campus.

How do I get a permit?
You must register your carpool with South Florida Commuter Services.

How many permits will my carpool receive?
One permit is provided per carpool. If you utilize more than one vehicle getting to and from the university, you must transfer the permit between vehicles.

How long does it take me to receive my permit?
Permits will be provided within 7-10 business days of your registration. The permit will be mailed to the home address of the first registrant.

How long is my permit valid?
Permits are issued twice yearly and are valid from January through June (01) or July through December (02).  Prior to expiration, you will receive a renewal notification from South Florida Commuter Services asking if you are interested in renewing or revising your registration. If you renew your carpool, a new updated permit will be provided to your carpool. If your carpool arrangements change during the year, please notify South Florida Commuter Services so they can update your carpool record with any new carpooler information including vehicle license plates.

What happens if I park in a carpool parking space without a valid permit?
Parking in a reserved space can lead to a $50 fine.

Who monitors the parking spaces?
Lynn University’s Office of Campus Safety and Security monitors the parking spaces. They have the authority to issue fines and/or revoke permits should you be found violating the program. They also receive reports on the individuals and vehicles registered to utilize the carpool parking spaces.

What happens if I’m found violating the program?
If you are a registered carpool found violating the program, your permit will be revoked and you will not be eligible to participate in the program for at least one semester. You may also be subject to a $50 fine.
